OutRun

OutRun is an iOS app for recording and viewing your outdoor workouts. Despite the name it supports not just running, but also walking, hiking, cycling and skating.

This project is fully open-source and ad-free.

Download on the App Store

Features

OutRun has a rich feature set centered around customisation and privacy. The list of features includes:

  • Keep full control over your data: everything stays on your device, without accounts, ads or tracking
  • Record your outdoor workouts (Running, Walking, Hiking, Cycling and Skating)
  • Follow an active recording on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island with Live Activities
  • View detailed statistics, charts and maps of your routes
  • Browse your workouts in a calendar and edit them afterwards
  • Synchronise with Apple Health in both directions
  • Export and import your workouts as GPX or JSON-backups
  • Customise the recording process and units

Contribution

OutRun is free, open source and has no ads. If you enjoy using it and would like to support it, there are lots of ways to help:

  1. Share the app. The simplest way of contributing is telling your friends and family about OutRun. A review on the App Store also helps others discover it.
  2. Report issues. If parts of the app are not working as expected, if you have feedback or just a question, you can submit an issue on the issue page of this project.
  3. Join the beta. Beta testers receive early and sometimes unstable versions of the app and help to make sure that everyone else gets a more polished product. You can join here.
  4. Leave a tip. If you would like to support the development, you can leave a tip through the Tip Jar in the app's settings. Tips are entirely optional and do not unlock any additional features. If you would like to support the project more substantially, please get in touch.
  5. Say thank you. A short thank-you message always makes my day.
OutRun does not accept any other kind of contributions, such as code or translations, at the moment.
