Hi everyone! A little late, perhaps, but in this article, I’d like to share that my new project is participating in Hacktoberfest.
I have been participating with projects for three years now, and this year was no exception. Today, I would like to talk about this in more detail.
Well, let's get started! 🏎
🔎 About Hacktoberfest
First of all, I would like to briefly explain what kind of festival this is. Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source throughout October. It’s free, and it’s for everyone, wherever you are in your open-source AI or software creating journey.
It is worth noting that this year, in-person events are also being held in many cities around the world.
💎 My new project
It is called EmbedCatalog, and its purpose is to create an embed that you can add to your website, README, and so on.
Over the course of a month, the core functionality required for the catalog was implemented. Features such as user registration, project statistics, custom embeds, and much more were added.
🎥 Video announcement
I had the idea to create something new for this festival, so I recorded a short video that you can watch here:
The text was written in a couple of minutes, but it turned out pretty well, I think :)
👀 What else was done?
I also created a small page where I listed all the issues in detail and added the contributors' avatars.
I’ve created 10 issues that you can check out and help with by writing code.
💬 Feedback
I would really like to hear your opinion on this festival. It seems like a pretty interesting format - a chance for people to work on open-source projects and make new connections within the developer community.
